Michael Parrino, MD, is a board certified pediatrician with more than 45 years of experience. Dr. Parrino is a diplomat with the American Board of Pediatrics who has worked with many children’s hospitals and medical centers across the United States.
He attended medical school in Tulane University in New Orleans and spent one year completing a pediatric internship at the University of Minnesota Medical Center in Minneapolis, as well as a 17-month residency at the Dallas Children’s Hospital, University of Texas Southwestern Medical School. Dr. Parrino also obtained a master of public health and tropical medicine at Tulane University, with a focus on pediatric infectious diseases.
Dr. Parrino first came to New Mexico in 1982 when he opened a joint private practice in Albuquerque. Post retirement in 2012, his locum tenens work history has included supporting more than a dozen hospitals across the United States, including Cannon Air Force Base in Clovis. His medical licenses remain active in six states, including New Mexico.
