Sarah Summers is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner known for her compassionate approach to healthcare. She provides family practice services to Deming and Luna County.
Before joining Mimbres Valley Medical Group/Deming Family Practice, Sarah started her career at the Southern New Mexico Family Medicine Residency Program, where she played a key role in academic and medical education for medical residents. As an interdisciplinary palliative care team member, Sarah’s passion for helping patients and families understand their disease, symptoms, and health goals grew.
Sarah’s experience also includes time at Mesilla Valley Hospice in Las Cruces, where she helped launch palliative care services. Her experience in end-of-life care, palliative care, and family medicine enables her to provide an integrated approach that addresses the physical and emotional aspects of care.

Having relocated to Deming, I am eager to serve the community at a place where personalized, compassionate care can make a meaningful difference. The opportunity to support and grow with the community is a professional and personal fulfillment, and I am eager to build strong, lasting relationships with patients and their families.” Sarah earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from New Mexico State University in Las Cruces, NM, in 2010 and completed her Doctor of Nursing Practice at the same institution in 2017.

- Immunizations, including pediatric, booster, travel-required, flu and pneumonia
- Treatment for physical illnesses, minor injuries, and muscle/joint pain
- Management of chronic health conditions such as diabetes, asthma, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, thyroid disorders, congestive heart failure
- Minor procedures such as skin biopsies, joint injections, cryotherapy for warts/lesions
- Sports, employment and insurance physicals
- Department of Transportation (DOT) exams
